A dynamic Finance and Investment Division is seeking a motivated Assistant Accountant to join their team. The successful candidate will support the Finance Business Partner in managing financial accounts for various local services. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong practical accounting skills to contribute in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Producing budget and accounting information, including financial monitoring statements and written commentaries.
• Assisting in the preparation of budget monitoring papers and working papers for designated service areas.
• Maintaining and updating salary working papers, agency monitoring papers, and other key financial documents such as budget trackers.
• Preparing and processing journals.
• Monitoring and tracking financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Ideal Candidate:

• Qualifications: AAT qualified or equivalent.
• Skills: Strong mathematical abilities, advanced Excel skills, and excellent IT proficiency.
• Experience: Comfortable working with both financial and non-financial staff, ideally with experience in reconciling large volumes of transactions (e.g., salary and bank reconciliations).
• Attributes: A methodical, thorough approach to work, with strong communication and interpersonal skills. A team player with the ability to collaborate effectively within the Finance Team.
