Facilities Supervisor Overview
This is an excellent opportunity for a facilities supervisor to join a family-owned, high growth engineering company located just outside of Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. The business are going through a period of expansion and have just extended their state-of-the-art facilities, so this is a great time to join the facilities team!
The facilities supervisor will be lead and manage a small team of in-house facilities staff, as well as 3rd party contractors. You will have day to day involvement in all aspects of the facility, including it's gardens and landscaping, HVAC systems, equipment and it's cleaning. You will need to have a background in day to day maintenance (electrical and mechanical), managing peoples workload and an ability to prioritise various issues.
Day to day this role will be 30-40% management / desk work, with the remainder being hands-on work. You will manage one or two internal staff, and 5+ external contractors. You will need to have excellent communication skills, a problem solver and generally be a "handy" / multi skilled person.
There is a chance this role will take on the ownership and management of a second facility within the next 5 years.
This role may suit an ex-trades person who is looking for a more comfortable position for the last 10-15 years before retirement.
Facilities Supervisor Requirements
- Experience working in a facilities / office maintenance type role
- Some hands-on experience - ideally in one or more of the following; landscaping, electrics, mechanics, building maintenance etc
- Some experience managing contractors and/or staff
- The sort of person that would like to learn about the onsite equipment and try to diagnose the problem (and maybe even fix it) before calling out contractors
- Ability to work independently, and have excellent communication skills
