Remit:

* As a Materials Engineer you'll be at the forefront of ensuring the companies materials meet the highest of demands for industries including aerospace, defence, high performance automotive

* The Materials Engineer will manage the delivery of science & engineering projects across the Composite & Polymer products business unit, including the development of material solutions for customers from conception through to production and after sales support including preparation of enquiry responses, material investigations, testing & validation activities, productionisation support, development projects and improvement projects .

Role:

* Utilize your technical expertise and engineering judgment to make critical decisions on material when needed.

* Lead or support technical troubleshooting efforts to uncover the root causes of material failures and implement effective solutions.

* Back up our technical initiatives such as material compliance, dual sourcing, and parts verification to keep us ahead of the curve.

* Collaborate seamlessly with our R&D and design teams to ensure the smooth integration of new products into our manufacturing processes.

* Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, including impregnation, pressing, and blown film lines, to enhance efficiency and quality.

* Work with the project team to develop cost-effective manufacturing approaches and drive completion of cost reduction initiatives where required.

* Implement and maintain control measures to ensure compliance with specifications and standards, safeguarding our reputation for excellence.

* Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in manufacturing to drive innovation and maintain our competitive edge.

Experience:

* Qualified in a relevant materials, science or engineering discipline

* Awareness of material science and engineering principles

* Familiarity with composite or polymer materials desirable

* Ability to demonstrate a proactive manner with the ability to prioritise and support multiple projects simultaneously

* Excellent attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and continuous improvement

* Ability to display effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional and technical teams

* Eligible for Security Clearance
