We are seeking an experienced EC&I Designer to join our Clients team based in Huddersfield. In this role, you will take ownership of assigned work, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, practical engineering designs in line with specifications, budgets, and project timelines. You will contribute to a culture of best practices, innovation, and continual improvement while maintaining strong working relationships with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

* Produce and update detailed EC&I design documentation, including loop diagrams, control panel schematics, field connection diagrams, I/O schedules, control circuits, LV power distribution, and more.

* Ensure compliance with national and site standards.

* Conduct site surveys and compile document work packs.

* Adhere to company and site procedures related to engineering design, project control, procurement, and verification.

* Support additional activities such as estimating, commissioning, handover, and procurement.

* Work independently while contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team.

RequirementsQualifications

Essential:

* ONC / HNC or equivalent in Electrical, Control, or Instrumentation Engineering.

Desirable:

* HSEQ qualification (e.g., IOSH).

* CompEx (ExF, ExF+, Ex01-04, Ex05-06, or Ex12).

* Functional Safety (IEC61508 - TUV or equivalent).

* BS7671:2018 IET Wiring Regulations (C&G#removed# or equivalent).

* Knowledge of CDM regulations.

Experience & Knowledge

* 5+ years of experience in a similar role.

* Experience in an industrial, process manufacturing, or COMAH Tier 1 environment.

* Strong understanding of functional safety, ATEX directives, and engineering design processes.

* Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and other drafting/engineering tools.

* Familiarity with PLC and DCS systems.

* Strong understanding of procurement, installation, verification, and commercial processes.
