Job Description

Responsibility for HSE activities across multiple UK business sites while promoting a positive H&S culture.

Managing the environmental management systems for ISO 14001 including third party external audits, such as preparation of relevant HSE documents.

Legislative compliance, ensuring that all HSE aspects of the business are conducted in accordance with all relevant statutory requirements and Codes of Practice.

Advise on matters relating to HSE at work including the obligations and responsibilities of managers and employees; and provide comprehensive and practical advice to managers on best practice.

Undertake HSE planning, including the setting of goals, agreeing priorities, and establishing adequate systems for performance management.

Provide appropriate accident investigation methodology to ensure personal management accountability and improve risk management, including monitoring and interpretation of statistical data and formulate into a monthly report

Compliance of all company/contract, documentation, audits and administration procedures are carried out to the company standard

Ensure process for and compliance to Extended Producer Responsibility regulations

Implement and manage OHSAS 18001 certification across all UK sites

Coordinate and deliver HSE committee meetings and company toolbox talks

Assist in the development of emergency response plans (including disaster recovery)

Investigation and analysis of accidents, incidents and near misses to determine root causes, corrective action and develop strategies for prevention.

MANDATORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Always observe the Sunrise's business code of conduct “Do the Right Thing”.

Perform role in accordance with all relevant quality standards and adhere to all relevant processes / policies within the GMS.

Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety / Environmental and Welfare requirements.

Ensure general housekeeping requirements are adhered to.

NOTES:

UK multi-site locations - Full UK driving license required. Ability to travel to alternative site locations.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or relevant experience

Appropriate qualification in HSE management

NEBOSH Cert

NEBOSH Diploma or working towards

Degree in affiliated area

Job Specific Training:

ISO standard 14001

Risk assessment

OHSAS 18001

Knowledge of medical devices environment

Experience:

Minimum 5 years in similar role

Demonstrable experience in HSE management, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment

Experience with managing and developing stakeholder teams

Strong communicator across various levels, written and verbal

A can-do attitude with the ability to work to own initiative

Equipment Skills:

Advanced MS Office
