We are looking for an Account Manager to join a leading independent energy management & consultancy firm. It is a pivotal customer-facing role where you will help clients achieve their cost reduction and sustainability objectives by introducing innovative solutions, including PPAs, renewable energy projects (such as solar and EV infrastructure), and energy procurement strategies. As the Account Manager you will be guiding customers through the procurement journey, ensuring costs and sustainability objectives are achieved with any upselling opportunities maximised. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years Account Manager experience within the energy sector plus procurement - ideally flex - and have excellent communication skills. Key responsibilities:
- Ensure client retention by engaging in proactive communication and renewal of services.
- Manage procurement contracts, framework agreements, and energy service
- Introduce renewable energy solutions such as PPAs, solar projects, and EV charging
- Maintain and develop your client portfolio within the CRM system
- Monitor energy market trends and use trigger points to advise clients on when to buy
- Upsell additional services - renewable solutions, energy efficiency projects & flex procurement
- Ensure accurate bill validation, compliance with industry schemes
- Provide expert advice on energy procurement strategies.
- Work closely with BDMs to identify new opportunities within existing and new client accounts.
Skills and experience required:
- 5+ years’ experience in the energy industry
- 3 years account/ relationship management experience from an energy broker or supplier
- Commercial acumen - identifying opportunities, upselling etc
- Familiar with terminology around energy supply contract arrangements.
- Strong communication skills and be able to get points across concisely
- Organisational skills and will be used to adapting to and managing fluctuating workloads.
- Understanding of energy buying solutions including knowledge of fixed and group purchasing.
