We are seeking a reliable and efficient Delivery Driver to join our team and cover our existing team of drivers holidays throughout the year. The ideal candidate will be responsbile for transporting frozen meals from our warehouse to various customer addresses, ensuring timely and safe delivery.
The role requires a strong commitment to customer service, attention to detail. This is a holiday cover postion that requires the ideal candidate to be flexible and available to cover ALL shifts covered. (You will be provided with a cover plan 1 month in advance)
Cover is a Max of 193 days Monday - Friday
Responsiblities:
- Safely operate a driving vehicle, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and regulations
- Loading your van in the morning
- Comminicate effectively with office staff and customers to coordinate deliveries
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including any discrepancies of issues encounted
- Conduct routine vehicles inspections and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the delivery vehicles at all times
- Assist in warehouse duties as needed.
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role is preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of the Dorset area as you will be covering numerous rounds during your working week
- Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and safety practises is essential
- Experience in a warehouse environment is advantageous to support where necessary
- Strong communication skills are essential for effective interaction with our vulnerable customers and team members
- Ability to manage time efficiently and work independently while adhering to schedules
- A valid UK drivers licence appropriate for the vehicle being driven is required.
