Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive specialist school in Southport. This role involves providing 1:1 support for a Year 10 pupil with additional needs, helping them to achieve their full potential in a nurturing educational environment.

About the Role:

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 10 pupil, addressing their individual academic, social, and emotional needs.
Collaborate with the teaching team to implement tailored learning strategies and interventions.
Promote the pupil's independence and confidence within the classroom and beyond.
Support the pupil in managing any behavioural or emotional challenges in a calm and constructive manner.
Assist with preparing and adapting learning materials to ensure the pupil can access the curriculum effectively.

The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for someone who:

Has prior experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly in a 1:1 support capacity.
Demonstrates patience, empathy, and the ability to build a strong rapport with the pupil.
Is confident in supporting children with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, or SEMH.
Possesses excellent communication and problem-solving skills to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Holds a relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, SEND-specific training) or equivalent experience.
