Job Title: Strategic UnderwriterContract Type: Permanent, Part Time, Full Time, Job Share option availableSalary Range: £35,200 - £42,000Location: Hybrid -Eastleigh, Bournemouth, GloucesterClosing Date for Applications: Tuesday 19th NovemberStrategic Underwriter:To contribute to the profitable development and maximise the performance of Ageas Household accounts by assisting in the development and improvement of pricing and products through all distribution channelsMain Responsibilities as a Strategic Underwriter:

  • To review underwriting rules and documentation and make recommendations to ensure that the business written by Ageas is of the required quality to maximise the profitability of the accounts.
  • To develop and recommend new underwriting concepts utilising market and competitor analysis to maximise account profitability.
  • To evaluate new scheme, and product propositions in order to identify potential profitability and recommend any necessary underwriting changes.
  • To provide underwriting support in the development of new projects and programs of work.
  • Support Underwriting and Pricing initiatives aligned to our strategic plan such as, but not limited to:

o   Competitive Footprint expansiono   New products and propositionsSkills and experience you need as a Strategic Underwriter

  • Knowledge and experience of working in a Household Personal Lines Underwriting environment, a sound understanding of underwriting principles and experience of a range of technical issues. Awareness of the market and legal / industry developments.
  • Strong numeracy skills with an ability to analyse, interpret and identify trends within large volumes of data and to make and present clear and accurate recommendations.
  • Customer focused, able to support whilst building rapport with internal and external partners and stakeholders.
  • Practiced time management experience, a sound understanding of numbers and the ability to quickly identify inconsistencies in data, an analytical thinker who is able to deduce information.
