Centres of Excellence - Customer and Marketing

The Marketing Centres of Excellence (CoE) has been formed with the aim of building outstanding capabilities across key marketing subject areas, from planning through to constantly evolving digital marketing channels! It changes the emphasis of what we do from product to customer and capability, with the ambition of delivering on our One Aviva strategy. The Marketing CoE sits alongside similar Data and Digital CoE’s, supporting our Go to Market (GTM) teams as they translate business objectives into practical customer centric campaigns, communications, and experiences.

The Marketing CoE is made up of 5 specialist teams - Marketing Strategy, Reporting and Planning; CRM, Content and Creative; Digital Marketing and Paid Media; Customer Insight and Research; the team lead on all marketing activity.

As a part of the Digital Marketing and Paid Media Team, we have a fantastic opportunity for a proven customer focused social media expert with experience across multiple platforms to join us as a Social Media Manager reporting into the Social Media Lead, looking after our customer social channels (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and X).

A bit about the job:

You’ll lead on our organic social content and community management to drive channel growth while supporting our direct to consumer go-to-market teams with relevant content and campaigns; across our products, propositions, and services (including Car, Home, Travel, Life and Health insurance; Direct Wealth; Pensions; Savings and Retirement products).

You’ll partner with marketing colleagues to develop an integrated approach to customer programs and campaigns that support cross-channel experiences; and lead on our organic social media performance reporting- including sharing of insights and listening with stakeholders.

We’re looking for a high performing individual, with a can-do attitude to make an impact, with the ability to coach and mentor the wider Social Media team on best practice content, creative and campaigns. You’ll also work closely with the Paid Social Media Manager to ensure we take a holistic approach to our social media presence and have direct line management of a Social Media Executive.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Significant experience proactively managing, optimising and creating organic social content working with platform partners, creative agencies, and media agencies to deliver best practice, including upskilling wider team members.

  • Experience owning social media content calendars, creating social first content that aligns to business priorities, consumer awareness days, trends and evergreen opportunities.

  • Ability to lead asset creation processes and campaigns, working closely with agency partners and in-house creative teams to ensure key timings and deliverables are met; including coordinating with different stakeholders to move content through creative review and sign-off/approval processes.

  • Experience creating performance, trends and competitor insight reports for wider business stakeholders to drive channel activity and future investment - experience working with Sprinklr is a bonus.

  • Experience supporting wider social media strategy development including influencer and brand ambassador programmes, with the ability to translate business objectives and insights into relevant channel activity to drive engagement and audience growth.

What you’ll get for this role:

Our purpose - with you today, for a better tomorrow - is a promise we make to our colleagues too. And one of the ways we live up to that promise is by investing in you. We have so much to offer when it comes to being an Aviva colleague.

  • Salary - London circa £55,000 / National circa £45,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)

  • Bonus opportunity - 10% of annual salary, actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s

  • Generous pension scheme - Aviva will contribute up to 14%, depending on what you put in

  • 29 days holiday plus bank holidays, and you can choose to buy or sell up to 5 days
