The Opportunity:

As a Rent & Service Charge Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient financial operations related to rent collection and service charge management. You will play a vital role in helping us deliver transparent, well-managed financial services that benefit both our residents and our business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the accurate billing and collection of rent and service charges across our portfolio of properties
  • Manage and maintain detailed records of rent payments, service charge calculations, and adjustments
  • Prepare and process service charge budgets, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
  • Provide financial reports and analysis to senior management, highlighting key trends and performance indicators
  • Resolve any discrepancies or issues with rent and service charge payments in a timely and professional manner
  • Rental and service charge reconciliations
  • Managing estate management recharging and reconciliations

Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in a similar accounting role, preferably in property management or housing
  • Strong understanding of rent and service charge accounting processes
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • A proactive, organized approach with a keen eye for detail
  • A degree in Accounting or a relevant professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA) is desirable
