Position Overview:
On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced Site Manager for a freelance/contract position on a new industrial development in Wyboston, Bedfordshire. This project involves the construction of three industrial units, split into 11 smaller units, and will require a hands-on, experienced manager to oversee all aspects of the build, including civils and groundworks, through to the completed units. The project is expected to last for 45 to 52 weeks, with the opportunity for a long-term contract for the right candidate.
The successful candidate will have strong experience in civils, groundworks, and the ability to work from the ground up. You must also have experience with industrial and commercial developments, and be comfortable managing complex, multi-unit projects with a focus on quality, safety, and on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
·Manage and oversee all aspects of the site, ensuring the project is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
·Supervise all trades and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications.
·Lead the day-to-day operations of the site, including extensive groundworks, drainage, foundations, and infrastructure for all three units and their division into 11 smaller units.
·Ensure that all civils and groundworks are completed to the highest standard, managing everything from earthworks to site preparation.
·Monitor the project's progress, manage timelines, and ensure that each unit is delivered on schedule.
·Collaborate with the project team, architects, and quantity surveyors to ensure that design specifications and quality standards are met across all units.
·Work alongside the client to ensure smooth communication, provide updates, and address any site issues promptly.
·Contribute to value engineering and cost-control efforts to optimize the project delivery while maintaining the highest standards.
·Ensure compliance with all planning, environmental, and safety regulations on-site.
 
Skills & Experience:
·Proven experience as a Site Manager with a focus on civils, groundworks, and industrial construction projects.
·Strong experience working from the ground up, including earthworks, drainage, foundations, and all external works.
·Experience managing multi-unit projects, especially involving the splitting of larger units into smaller sections, ensuring quality and consistency across all.
·Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage a team, subcontractors, and project operations effectively.
·Ability to monitor and manage the project from start to finish, ensuring it remains on schedule and within budget.
·A solid understanding of construction processes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
·Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
·Ability to handle project complexities, ensure smooth operations, and deliver the project to a high standard.
