Cover People are working with a  school in the Stretford area who are looking for an experienced Teacher of Religious studies to teach long term from November 2024 on a maternity cover.

The role is full time and the ideal candidate will have experience teaching KS3/KS4 Religious Studies . The school is ofsted rated "Good" and has a really good reputation within the Stretford area in terms of the students behaviour and supportive staff. 

The school has an excellent relationship with the local community and regularly holds events that families and community leaders can get involved with. Successful teachers will need to have an engaging and positive personality along with outstanding behaviour management skills in order to be successful in this role. ECT's are encouraged to apply, there are regular CPD opportunities and the faculty are lead by an experienced Head of Department that thrives on developing teachers and helping them along their journey.

You must hold UK QTS or have a Narics conversion certificate highlighting an equivalent qualification to be considered.

Your duties will include:

Managing the behaviour of pupils in line with the school's behavioural policy.
Respond to any questions from pupils to support and develop their learning.
Being flexible to the schools and pupils needs.
Report back to the key person in charge with any key information about pupils behaviours and progress.
The Ideal person:

Previous experience teaching KS3/KS4 Religious Studies to students of different age groups preferred
Ability to effectively communicate and engage with students in a classroom setting
Excellent organisational skills to manage art supplies and plan lessons effectively.
Excellent reading, writing and numeracy skills.
Educated to Degree level (essential).
A passion for helping young pupils progress within their education.
Adaptable to a change in circumstances.
Dynamic and holds strong classroom management.
