Job Summary
ob Summary The Occupational Therapist (OT) in Acute Medicine and Accident & Emergency (A&E) provides specialized, person-centered care to patients in high-acuity settings. This role focuses on the rapid assessment, treatment, and planning of occupational therapy interventions for individuals with urgent medical needs. The OT will play a critical role in promoting safety, independence, and improved quality of life for patients while ensuring continuity of care from the hospital setting to home or rehabilitation facilities.
Key Responsibilities -
Assessment & Intervention
- Conduct thorough occupational therapy assessments for patients in acute medicine and A&E, including physical, cognitive, and psychosocial evaluations.
- Identify patients’ needs, strengths, and limitations to formulate individualized care plans focused on maximizing safety and function.
- Implement evidence-based interventions to address mobility, daily living activities, cognition, and any other areas affecting functional independence.
