Electrical Technician, purpose of the Role:
Assisting Test Engineers in the operation of the test equipment to obtain performance data and working to resolve problems such as equipment issues and malfunctions with bias towards electrical installations, circuits, and power distribution systems.
Carry out build, modification and testing of electrical circuits and power distribution units.
Electrical Technician, key Accountabilities:
* Installing, maintaining, modifying and repairing all electrical systems on all test stand platforms.
* Ensuring that electrical systems adhere to the national electrical safety standards and regulations.
* Supervising ongoing electrical system installations and providing technical expertise to installation teams where needed.
* Using schematic, wiring diagrams and manufacturer's installation drawings to complete projects.
* Completing work orders and recording materials that are used on the job, for future job tasks.
* Identifying electrical problems and repairing them.
* Advising the company's management when to replace aged electrical equipment to prevent hazards.
* Conducting general electrical systems maintenance (TPM) total planned maintenance and troubleshooting electrical issues with testing equipment.
* Drafting electrical installation plans and technical diagrams.
Electrical Technician, knowledge and skills required for the role:
* Experience of lab or industrial environments including safety procedures
* Experience and understanding of electrical installations and power distribution units
* Experience of completing mechanical and/or electrical works on equipment or systems in line with engineering documentation
* Electrical qualification
* Mechanical and electrical fitting skills
* Competent user of MS Office packages
* Ability to read diagrams and schematics (ideally electrical, electronic and P&ID)
* Enthusiasm and drive to deliver on time
* Organised and methodical
* Effective communicator, with ability to problem solve
