Macildowie is excited to represent a reputable client in Leicester who is on the lookout for a Payroll and Accounts Assistant to join their team! This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with payroll experience and a passion for accounting.

Role Overview:As the Payroll and Accounts Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth processing of payroll while also supporting essential accounting functions. This position is ideal for an ambitious individual who is currently studying AAT or has plans to do so.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations.
• Assist in performing bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support month-end closing processes and prepare relevant financial reports.
• Handle payroll queries and provide excellent customer service to employees.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to payroll and accounts.
• Collaborate with the finance team to ensure a seamless flow of information.

What We're Looking For:The ideal candidate will have:

• Proven experience in payroll processing.
• A basic understanding of accounting principles, with experience in bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ambition and a desire to develop professionally, ideally pursuing or studying for AAT.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• The ability to communicate effectively with both internal teams and employees.
