Our client, a leading provider of services to importers, manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, and distributors, is seeking a Maintenance Manager. This new role supports the Head of Engineering by overseeing a dedicated team of 10 experienced maintenance engineers. With a focus on planned maintenance (90% planned, 10% reactive), your leadership will be essential for ensuring operational efficiency and reliability.

Salary: £50,000

Location: Brierley Hill, Staffordshire

(With occasional travel 1-2 days per week to support additional sites)

Overview of duties

* Coordinate and supervise a team of 10 engineers to maximise the effectiveness and utilisation of the UK Plant and Engineering resources.

* Apply a proactive approach to prevent equipment failure through Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and respond efficiently to breakdowns.

* Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulations, including health & safety, food safety, and personal protective equipment (PPE) standards.

* Manage and resolve mechanical and electrical issues promptly, utilising strong problem-solving abilities in either electrical or mechanical engineering.

* Manage computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance effectiveness.

* Foster a collaborative team environment, working closely with the manufacturing team to achieve quality, waste reduction, and efficiency targets, while maintaining a structured 12-month maintenance plan.

Required experience

* Must hold a minimum Level 3 qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering.

* At least 3 years of proven management experience in a maintenance or engineering role.

* Demonstrated experience working in a production or manufacturing environment.
