The Role:

The school is looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Geography Teacher to deliver engaging and high-quality lessons across KS3, KS4, and KS5. The successful candidate will inspire students to develop their understanding of physical and human geography, as well as key global issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging Geography lessons in line with the national curriculum

Teach a range of topics, including physical geography, human geography, and environmental issues

Support and challenge students to reach their full potential, adapting teaching strategies as needed

Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and targeted support

Contribute to the development of the Geography curriculum and department initiatives

Participate in extracurricular activities, such as geography clubs, field trips, or competitions

Essential Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant experience teaching Geography in a secondary school setting

Experience teaching across KS3, KS4, and KS5

Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Geography

An up-to-date DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one

Excellent communication and classroom management skills

A commitment to inspiring students and fostering a love for Geography

Desirable Skills & Experience:

Experience with GCSE and A-Level Geography delivery

Knowledge of different teaching strategies to engage a diverse range of learners

Familiarity with exam board specifications and assessment criteria

Ability to contribute to whole-school sustainability and global awareness initiatives
