Working 1-to-1 with a student with SEMH needs, helping them engage in learning activities and supporting their emotional wellbeing.
Implementing behaviour management strategies to assist the student in developing positive coping mechanisms and improving their behaviour.
Collaborating with teachers and support staff to provide personalised learning opportunities that meet the child's individual needs.
Assisting in classroom activities, ensuring the student remains engaged and supported during lessons.

Building strong, trusting relationships with the student, their family, and the school staff to create a cohesive support network.
The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will have:

Experience working with children with SEMH needs, ADHD, Autism, or other additional learning or behavioural challenges.
A strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
A passion for supporting vulnerable young people, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and build resilience.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to connect with children on a 1-to-1 basis.
The ability to work independently as well as part of a supportive team in a specialist setting.
In return, you can expect:

A welcoming and dedicated school team committed to helping both staff and students thrive.
Ongoing professional development opportunities to help you grow in your role.
Competitive pay rates.
