We are working alongside a small but perfectly formed accountancy practice based in Blackburn who are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join their team. You will be a key member of the team and support them in continuing to provide a high level of customer service to their client base.

The business has organically grown over the last 10 years and has established a loyal customer base, alongside a great working family culture. They work with a variety of client from sole traders, LTD companies and right through to the larger clients nearer the audit threshold.

Duties as the Bookkeeper will include:

• Responsible for the reporting of the monthly profit and loss accounts supported by a loose commentary of variances.

• Work closely with cost centre leaders to understand controls and variances around internal expenditure and budgetary controls.

• Understand the stock reporting cycle and stock level variances/movements.

• Main point for contact for stock related queries working closely with sales and operational staff where necessary.

• Report all utilities/overhead accruals monthly.

• Responsible for production/manufacturing volumes and monitor weekly variances.

• Monitor the customer rebate system and calculations closely.

• Assist with the audit process and answer any queries where needed.

The successful candidate will have gained a few years background with Bookkeeping and possibly in an accountancy practice, however if you have been working independently and wish to now be part of a team that would be good too! Solid bookkeeping skills and knowledge of cloud accounting are a must, and AAT is on the wish list but not essential.
