Astute Recruitment are working with a well-established company in Barton-Under-Needwood who are seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join their close-knit team. Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate calculation of accounting journals in line with Group policies and accounting standards, including accruals, prepayments, and fixed assets
• Prepare management accounts from Sage 50 using Excel reporting
• Assist in monitoring performance against targets, understanding and reporting variances
• Support the preparation of the monthly forecast of the Group’s financial position
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations
• Maintain accrual and prepayment schedules
• Maintain the fixed asset registers
• Assist in the preparing financial statements
• Support the annual audit process
• Assist with VAT returns
• Support the purchase ledger and sales ledger teams
• Deputise for the Head of Finance or Group Accounts Payable Supervisor, including staff management when required

Candidate Experience and Requirements:

• Experience in a similar role ideal
• Exposure to management accounts preparation ideal
• AAT Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) desirable but not essential
• Strong Excel skills and experience with Sage 50 desirable but not essential
• Ability to extract and interpret financial data

Benefits and Hours:

• Salary up to £31,000 depending on experience
• Study support provided for the right candidate
• 22 days holiday plus bank holidays
• Working hours: 8:30am - 5:00pm, Monday to Thursday; 8:30am - 3:30pm on Fridays
