We are looking for SEN-experienced (Special Educational Needs) Learning Support Assistants, particularly with children in Key Stage 1, based in Braintree.

An ideal KS1 Learning Support Assistant will have the passion for working with children. They will also have the skills, experience, and knowledge to work with a classroom teacher to address the needs of these children in the classroom to help them succeed.

As a KS1 Learning Support Assistant, your role will be to support the classroom teacher, providing dedicated 1:2:1 support for a pupil with special needs, who faces challenges in Education not faced by most pupils. You will work closely with classroom teachers and the school's Special Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to help you understand how best to support pupils in class, based on the child's individual needs.

You will provide educational support as well as emotional/social support to get the very best out of a pupil who may otherwise, struggle without you.

You must have previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant, preferably with pupils in KS1.

This role will be initially temporary - if you are successful, you will have 12-14 weeks after which the school has an option to offer a permanent contract if you have shown excellent performance.

There is a highly competitive rate of pay which is £(Apply online only) a week, for working hours of 8.30am-3.30pm.

Working days are Monday-Friday, term-time only. To start in September 2024.

Trials to take place before the end of this academic year.

Candidate Requirements

* Must have experience of working within a school in the past 2 years.

* NVQ Level 3 in Teaching Assistant (or equivalent) preferred.

* Must be a great communicator who is able to develop positive relationships with young children and teachers.

* Must be passionate about helping children reach their academic potential.

* Must have or be willing to pay for an enhanced DBS (£52.20) and be willing to register it on the update service (£13 a year).
