Position: Ocean Import Operator

Location: Castle Donington

Salary: Up to £33,000

We seek an Ocean Import Operator to join their Derby team and complete start-to-finish Operations, including speaking with Origin and taking bookings, through to point of delivery, and creating invoices.

Your key responsibilities as an Ocean Import Operator:

Provide an exceptional level of service to all customers.
Manage and oversee the import process for sea freight shipments from origin to delivery
Quote clients and negotiate rates with suppliers to optimise cost-effectiveness for clients
Customs procedures
Liaise with suppliers and hauliers ensuring smooth delivery and monitor shipments to update clients regarding any delays
Invoice and cost files ensuring the correct profit margin.
Visit clients with the sales team and help build strong relationships (as required)

Requirements:

Experience in Freight Forwarding industry is essential
Start to finish Ocean Freight Operations experience is essential
Proven customs experience
Previous experience taking bookings from origin through to delivery point
Creating invoices
Effectively communicate with clients, suppliers and your wider team
Have a keen attention to detail
Develop trust and respect from colleagues & clients
Identify problems early & respond in a timely fashion
