Based in Cheshire, the company's site features the country’s largest salt mine, offering unique storage solutions, from documentation to historical artefacts, in ideal conditions.
The Role:
As a Salt Despatch Operator, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for overseeing all aspects of surface salt operations. You’ll also engage in environmental monitoring, stockpiling, and loading vehicles, ensuring the highest safety and quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate the weighbridge system to control vehicle flow in and out of the site safely
- Liaise with internal departments and third-party contractors
- Conduct salt sampling and environmental monitoring to ensure quality
- Operate Front End Loaders to stockpile or load vehicles with rock salt
- Set up and maintain equipment for manufacturing treated salt
- Use a Forklift Truck to load/unload deliveries and collections
- Complete accurate reporting and statutory administration tasks
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and EH&S practices

What you will need:
- Experience in weighbridge operations and/or other customer-facing roles
- Qualified to operate Front End Loaders and Forklift Trucks (desirable)
- Must hold a full driving license
- High level of computer literacy
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to prioritise workload
- Strong analysis and problem-solving skills
- A flexible approach to varied work situations and shift patterns
