Business Services Officer

We are looking for a dedicated Business Services Officer to contribute to the effective and efficient management and progression of cases. The role involves providing administrative support to Family Court Advisors and Service Managers, ensuring the smooth operation of case management systems, and maintaining high standards of data accuracy and safeguarding. Due to the nature of this role an enhanced DBS is required.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Support the management of case progression, including monitoring, receiving referrals, and updating cases within the case management system.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as creating, updating, and closing cases, saving documents, and sending out information packs to service users.
  • Ensure that safeguarding checks are completed and updated as necessary.
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams to ensure timely electronic receipt and allocation of new applications for cases.
  • Maintain internal records, databases, and filing systems in compliance with data protection legislation and information assurance policies.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support including scheduling, booking meetings, and managing resources like hire cars and equipment.
  • Maintain stock levels of office supplies and IT equipment, and assist in the management of financial records in accordance with organisational procedures.
  • Offer a welcoming reception service, deal with routine enquiries, and maintain communal areas.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • NVQ2 (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards it.
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to input data accurately and timely.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent word processing skills and good comprehension of the English language.
  • Strong numerical ability and excellent listening and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of general office practice and procedures and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and on own initiative within agreed limits.
