SEND Learning Support Assistant

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a compassionate and experienced SEND Learning Support Assistant to work in SEND schools across Liverpool on a supply basis. This role is dedicated to supporting students with special educational needs, helping them overcome challenges and achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEND, both in and outside the classroom.
Use structured teaching methods, visual aids, and SEND-specific strategies to enhance student learning and engagement.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages independence, social interaction, and emotional well-being.
Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to teachers, SENCOs, and parents.
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver a consistent and effective approach to student development.
Support students in developing social skills, managing sensory sensitivities, and adapting to daily school routines.
Assist with personal care and mobility needs as required, ensuring the dignity and well-being of each student.
Participate in staff training and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in SEND education.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and support activities.

What We're Looking For:

Proven experience working with children or young people with SEND in a school or similar setting.
Strong understanding of SEND-specific teaching strategies and approaches.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the development and well-being of students with SEND.
Flexibility and teamwork skills to adapt to the changing needs of students and the school environment.
