Housing Law and Litigation Solicitor

Job Location: Southwark Council ( Remote / Hybrid ) Rate: £42.27PH

Start Date: 14/10/2024Contract Type: Full-time, Contract 3-6 months

Our client is seeking a Commercial Contracts and Procurement Solicitor/Lawyer to assist the Chief Contracts Lawyer in providing comprehensive legal support for the Council’s functions related to contracts, procurement, economic regeneration, and other assigned responsibilities. Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Contracts Lawyer in planning, coordinating, and undertaking legal work supporting the Council’s functions related to contracts and procurement.
• Manage and ensure the development of a Contracts Lawyer, allocating work as appropriate.
• Maintain a substantial personal caseload of complex contract work, providing legal advice, drafting, negotiating, and agreeing on complex documentation for various types of contracts and commercial transactions.

Skills & Qualifications

• Qualified to practice as a solicitor or barrister in England (or comparable jurisdiction) or hold a FILEX qualification.
• Substantial post-qualification experience in the legal profession, with proven experience in the contract area or exceptional experience over a shorter period.
