Polymer Solutions an Orbia business, is looking for a Sales Account Manager to be based at Remote based - with travel to Melton Office UK.

Alphagary manufactures specialty compounds, formulated from a variety of polymers, that are purpose-designed for a wide range of applications. Alphagary also formulates stabilizers, plasticizers and colorants designed for use in vinyl compounds.

The Role:

The Sales Account Managers mission is to identify, target, acquire and service key customers for Alphagary. It is also to manage and grow business with existing customers in an assigned territory or on a national basis.

The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of our products and industries we serve. You will excel at account relationship building, specifically fostering relationships with key people at various levels in their organizations, including purchasing, engineering, production, accounts payable and executive management. You will set territory goals and write annual sales territory plans. You may manage assigned distributor and/or independent manufacturer's representative sales in assigned territories. You are focused and exhibit excellent personal and professional motivation and always conduct yourself with a courteous, helpful and positive attitude.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop annual territory sales plan to include sales forecasts, budgets and goals.
  • Travel throughout assigned territory to conduct customer business meetings, attend product sample trials, help resolve technical issues and strengthen relationships with customers.
  • Research and identify new customer prospects and present Sylvin products and capabilities via telephone, email, direct mail or personal visits.
  • Through customer and prospect interaction identify potential new products and markets to explore and develop.
  • Assist in new product market research and sales initiatives as assigned.
  • Effectively acquire and manage significant key accounts.
  • Develop proposals and effectively communicate price changes to customers.
  • Manage assigned distributor sales inquiries. Travel as required to help establish relationships and grow sales.
  • Provide monthly sales report summarizing key account developments, significant new business opportunities, competitor activities and customer visits.
  • Attend industry trade shows.
  • Maintain the territory sales pipeline.
  • Provide sales call reports.
  • Assist customer service as required.
  • Assist accounting with customer collections activities.
  • Participate in Marketing Team plan development and execution.
  • Provide customer forecasts and inventory requirements.
  • Work with customer service, production scheduler and shipping/receiving to expedite and solve customer product requirements.
  • Create and maintain key customer contracts including price negotiation and setting, price change mechanisms and established volume commitments.
  • Identify customer product performance requirements and communicate clearly with PD&A to ensure the right product is developed for the intended use.
  • Develop a clear understanding of the customers pain points to focus on best sales opportunities.
  • Develop a clear understanding of all customer applications, their market and volume potential.
  • Manage customer pricing to maximize margins.
  • Identify opportunity with every customer/prospect to maximize available sales within our capabilities/value/niche.
  • Continuing education. Routinely research methods to learn more about our products and industry. Explore and attend sales training seminars and utilize learning CD's

Knowledge/Experience Required:

  • Five to seven years' experience in outside sales account management in the plastics, chemicals or industrial markets.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated Microsoft Office and internet research skills.
  • Self-driven and motivated, customer focused, work well independently.
  • Technically capable and excellent questioning technique.
  • Successful key account management experience.
  • Clean driving record.

Qualifications:

  • University degree, preferable with a technical/engineering or business/marketing emphasis.
