OFSTED Registered Manager - 4-Bed Learning Disabilities Children's Home

Salary: £55,000 - £70,000
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dedicated Registered Manager to lead a four bed children's home in Heald Green, supporting children with learning disabilities. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the home operates in full compliance with OFSTED regulations and the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015
- Lead and develop a team to provide high-quality, person-centred care to children with learning disabilities
- Oversee care plans, risk assessments, and behavioural support strategies to meet individual needs
- Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times
- Work closely with external agencies, including local authorities, health professionals, and OFSTED inspectors
- Manage budgets and resources efficiently to ensure the home runs effectively
- Drive continuous improvement and work towards achieving and maintaining a high OFSTED rating
Essential Criteria:
To be eligible for OFSTED registration as a Children's Home Manager, you must meet the following requirements:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards this)
- At least two years of experience working in a residential children's home within the last five years
- At least one year of experience in a supervisory or management role in a residential childcare setting
- Strong understanding of the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and OFSTED's Social Care Common Inspection Framework
- Ability to meet the "fit person" requirements for OFSTED registration, demonstrating good character, competence, and sound financial standing
- Experience supporting children with learning disabilities and complex needs
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager in a learning disabilities setting
- A strong track record of achieving or maintaining positive OFSTED ratings
- Knowledge of therapeutic approaches and specialist interventions for children with learning disabilities
- Experience in setting up or developing a children's home
