OFSTED Registered Manager - 4-Bed Learning Disabilities Children's Home

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dedicated Registered Manager to lead a four bed children's home in Heald Green, supporting children with learning disabilities. This role offers the chance to shape and develop a high-quality service, ensuring the home provides a safe, nurturing, and person-centred environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the home operates in full compliance with OFSTED regulations and the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015
  • Lead and develop a team to provide high-quality, person-centred care to children with learning disabilities
  • Oversee care plans, risk assessments, and behavioural support strategies to meet individual needs
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times
  • Work closely with external agencies, including local authorities, health professionals, and OFSTED inspectors
  • Manage budgets and resources efficiently to ensure the home runs effectively
  • Drive continuous improvement and work towards achieving and maintaining a high OFSTED rating

Essential Criteria:

To be eligible for OFSTED registration as a Children's Home Manager, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards this)
  • At least two years of experience working in a residential children's home within the last five years
  • At least one year of experience in a supervisory or management role in a residential childcare setting
  • Strong understanding of the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and OFSTED's Social Care Common Inspection Framework
  • Ability to meet the "fit person" requirements for OFSTED registration, demonstrating good character, competence, and sound financial standing
  • Experience supporting children with learning disabilities and complex needs
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager in a learning disabilities setting
  • A strong track record of achieving or maintaining positive OFSTED ratings
  • Knowledge of therapeutic approaches and specialist interventions for children with learning disabilities
  • Experience in setting up or developing a children's home
