ENVIRONMENT:

A dynamic Energy Specialist seeks the expertise of a highly analytical and solutions-driven Accounting professional to fill the role of a Statutory Reporting & Policy Advice Manager. You will be one of the principal contacts for complex IFRS accounting matters and provide critical guidance, training, and advice to the group. This role will be a key interface with the external audit team, co-ordinating the audit effort across the group and ensuring an effective audit. The ideal candidate will be a qualified Chartered Accountant with articles completed at a Big 4 Audit firm and have 7-10 years relevant professional experience. You must also have IFRS knowledge (ideally with Accountancy/Audit Degree), Accountancy experience at group reporting level within a multinational organisation and/or relevant audit experience within one of the international audit firms & extensive internal controls knowledge and internal or external audit experience.

DUTIES:

Owning IFRS accounting guidelines -

  • Prepare accounting policies and maintaining the accounting manual
  • Identify, analyse and implement new IFRS accounting standards within the organisation and ensure their application.
  • Provide IFRS and reporting training to the finance organization.

Statutory Reporting -

  • Ensure Accounting Standards are understood, and changes are introduced to all operating units.
  • Produce accurate consolidated results for audit purposes.
  • Prepare regular management reports, including KPIs, dashboards/board packs, and performance summaries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis to support business decisions and strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain and improve templates and processes for standardized reporting across OUs.

Stakeholder Collaboration -

  • Work closely with the Central Accounting teams and local Finance teams to ensure alignment on reporting and key timelines.
  • Respond to inquiries from OUs and other stakeholders regarding policy guidance.
  • Provide clear accounting and policy guidance/training.

System and Data Management -

  • Support the Group Reporting team in maintaining and optimizing financial planning systems and tools.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data by performing reconciliations and validating inputs.
  • Assist in data migration and system improvement projects as required.

Continuous Improvement -

  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial planning and reporting processes for greater efficiency.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices in data analysis, visualization, and reporting.

  • Ensuring data consistency and accuracy across multiple OUs.
  • Translating complex financial data into clear and actionable insights.
  • Working effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders across multiple geographies.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Chartered Accountant with articles at Big 4 Audit firm.
  • 7 - 10 Years relevant professional experience.
  • Accountancy experience at group reporting level within a multinational organisation and/or relevant audit experience within one of the international audit firms.
  • IFRS knowledge (ideally with Accountancy/Audit Degree).
  • Extensive internal controls knowledge and internal or external audit experience.
  • Very strong analytical and communication skills.
