Our client is a local, well established business located in the South Leeds area, with a parking facility. They require an Assistant Accountant to join their team, to support the Financial Controller.The successful candidate will have gained accounts experience within a fast paced SME.Benefits and Hours:

Key Responsibilities:Reporting directly to the Head of Finance you will  be involved in:

• Sales ledger – allocation of payments by cheque and BACS
• Raising statements
• Reconciliation of payments
• Dealing with queries
• Credit Control – chasing outstanding payments by phone and email
• Payroll
• Purchase Ledger
• VAT

Typical qualities required for the Bookkeeper:

• Ideally AAT PQ / Qualified or QBE Qualified by experience
• Have strong accounting and/or bookkeeping skills
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work with confidence with minimum supervision
• Have a positive can-do attitude
• Have experience in a hands on role in a fast paced SME
• Payroll experience is a bonus, though not essential.
