Our client is an established commercial property company based in Epping, Essex. They are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Sole Charge Bookkeeper to manage their financial records. This role requires proficiency in Sage and the ability to produce accurate trial balance reports. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, and work independently to manage all aspects of bookkeeping.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using Sage.
• Process and record all financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
• Prepare and reconcile bank statements.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate posting to trial balance level.
• Record rental income and service charges from tenants.
• Reporting & Analysis
• Produce monthly trial balance reports.
• Provide regular cash flow updates.
• Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations
• Support annual audits and provide requested documentation to external accountants.

Experience:

• Proven experience as a sole charge bookkeeper.
• Proficiency in SAGE or Xero accounting software.
• Strong understanding of trial balance and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of VAT
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
