Support Worker Role!
We work in partnership with Durham County Council to provide support to Children and Young People with Additional Needs. We are currently seeking new candidates to provide support across weekends and school holidays on a part-time or Ad-hoc basis across Central Durham. (DH1)
You will be required to support children with learning difficulties, autism and additional, complex needs in a hub basis model or in the community.
Duties include but not limited to:
· Assisting children with daily activities
· Safeguarding children at all times
· Creating and maintaining positive relationships with the children and young people
· Meeting the physical, emotional, behavioural and cultural needs of the children
· Provide support and assistance to individuals with disabilities or special needs
· Help individuals develop and maintain independent living skills
· Support individuals in participating in community activities
· Document and report any changes in behaviour or health status to the appropriate supervisor and provide accurate record keeping
· General housekeeping
Skills:
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Empathy and compassion for individuals with disabilities
· Ability to work effectively as part of a team
· Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
· Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of individuals

You do not need experience in support or care work, as we can provide full training but experience of working with children is advantageous.
