Job Role

On behalf of a well-established construction contractor, Fraser Edwards are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor who has experience of repairs, maintenance, and planned works for housing stock.

This is initially a 6-month contact role. The role has the opportunity to transfer into a permanent position after the initial 6-month period.

Main Duties

* Working collaboratively with the operational team, advising on all matters relating to contract and finances

* Working from and ensuring the contract is adhering to agreed schedule of rates

* Preparation and issue of tender documents such as: Invitation to Tender, Form of Contract, Bills of Quantities, Pricing schedules, performance specifications

* Ensuring subcontract packages are placed accurately and promptly to meet programme

* Assisting with the procurement of major material purchases

* Preparation of monthly valuation claims and invoices, maximising recovery, ensuring claims are certified and paid on time, including negotiation of Final Accounts

* Preparation and presentation of accurate monthly CVR cost reports, and minutes Preparation and update of cashflows

* Pricing variations, ensuring they are agreed timeously through the contract and reported

* Notification and preparation of delay claims promptly and in accordance with contract

* Site measurement and re-measurement of main contracts and subcontracts

* Managing subcontracts accurately, payments and final account agreement

Ideal Candidate

* BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying

* Experience on housing repairs, maintenance, and planned works contracts

* Experience delivering projects up to 1 million +

* Great communication and management skills
