Team Jobs is currently recruiting for a Diesel Engine Application & Installation Engineer for Construction Equipment based in Peterborough.

You will be involved to collaborate with customers on requirements and project governance but work independently with their engineering teams on machine validation and testing to achieve application sign- off according to engine installation requirements.

Working Hours: 8:30am- 4:45pm (flexibility with working hours is essential due to the need to collaborate with different countries around the world).

Monday to Friday (2 days working on site looking for these to overlap with key contacts)

Salary: £27.23-£34.44 (depending on experience)

Job Type: 6 months with the possibilities to extend for right candidates

Main Responsibilities and Duties include:

  • Responsible for power system selection and completion of projects on time and on cost through close collaboration with machine technical lead engineers
  • Development of effective relationships both internally within the Industrial Power Systems Division and customer teams to ensure an effective partnership is maintained and enhanced.
  • Be a point of contact for all customer technical queries through all stages of NPI.
  • Initial escalation point for customer critical issues, ensuring clear communications are made regarding support needs.
  • Support BCP Voice of the Customer technical requirements gathering to help develop new power system products and drive customer focused product design & development.
  • Support customer collaboration events such as product development workshops
  • Support power system selection and delivery of projects on time & to cost targets.
  • Management of Application & Installation (A&I) requirements with the customer, leading to A&I sign off ahead of machine production start.
  • Lead regular meetings on performance, software, hardware, issues and A&I testing
  • Attend and input to internal and customer design and or NPI gate reviews
  • Engine specification support through product life cycle, managing changes through new engine configuration option requests.
  • Mediate between Industrial Power Systems Division and customers to maximise enterprise value and ensure successful resolution of technical integration issues.
  • Support Continuous Product Improvements adding knowledge on machine installations.
  • Stay informed of New Product Development issues and ensure that the impact to customers is understood and communicated.
  • Support knowledge share across the wider EPS team

Skills and Experience required:

  • Degree Qualified or equivalent practical experience within an engineering discipline.
  • Understanding of engine performance, design, field testing and/or manufacturing.
  • Teamcentre, EIP, Outlook/Teams/Sharepoint, Office suite
  • Well organised, strong attention to detail, effective communicator with customer and or supplier- facing experience.
  • Ability to plan, be organised and drive actions through an organisation.

Desirable Skills/ Experience:

-Disel Engine Integration Technical Lead/ Installation Engineer Knowledge and Development/ Validation test planning and execution

-Teamcentre- BoM management, 3D models, workflows (design experience not required)

-Minimum of 5 years in diesel genset development, performance or optimisation experience.

-General diesel engine development, performance or machine integration experience
