Engine Test Engineer

Location - Gillingham, Kent

Are you an engineer with at least a basic knowledge of fuel injection system functionality? Are you looking to be part of a company that wants to provide clean carbon-free combustion?

We have an amazing opportunity in Gillingham for a Test Engineer to work for a company creating premium fuel systems, electrical systems, and industrial applications, with over a century's worth of expertise and innovation.

Responsibilities for the role of Engine Test Engineer

  • Advanced test setup - hardware/software
  • Write and edit test programs
  • Perform high-level data manipulation
  • Adjust hardware and software to meet specified parameters
  • Identify faults in test facilities and products
  • Monitor tests and perform in-test interventions
  • Capture data and report faults to the internal customer base
  • Provide calibration support for the test facility
  • Set up and maintain instrumentation
  • Collaborate with the internal customer base to meet project expectations
  • Conduct in-test conformance checks (validation/endurance)
  • Deploy risk assessment technology
  • Create work instructions and SOPs

Skills and Experience required for the role of Engine Test Engineer

  • Must have a basic knowledge of fuel injection system functionality
  • Imperative candidate has a basic understanding of engine functions
  • Ideally holds an HND/BTEC/Degree in engineering, or experience in a similar engineering field (Auto, Aero, Motorsports, Cycling)
  • The ability to carry out RISK assessments
  • Ideally, the ability to deliver quality coaching/training where required
  • The ability to carry out calibration
