HGV Driver (Class 2) - Permanent. HGV Drivers permanent opportunity with this expanding engineering company. The ideal candidate will have experience in handling heavy steel work and for this 18-ton flatbed truck. Proficiency in roping and sheeting is needed for this role. This varied role will also involve some van driving and generally helping around the business so any factory experience such as forklift driving, or even welding, fabricating or machine operating will give you a distinct advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely and efficiently transport heavy steel work materials to and from various job sites
• Operate handling equipment to load and unload materials as needed
• Secure loads using proper roping and sheeting techniques to ensure safe transportation
• Conduct routine vehicle checks and maintenance to ensure road worthiness
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving company vehicles
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption

Requirements:

• Valid Class 2 driving license
• Experience as an HGV driver in an engineering or construction setting
• Strong knowledge of roping and sheeting techniques for securing loads
• Excellent driving record with no major traffic violations
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

The company is a successful and rapidly expanding company with a friendly management style. The role requires some flexibility to perform other duties around the company when the driving is not required. Part time hours may be considered.
