Ward Manager - Mental Health Service
Salary: Up to £45,000


Full Time, Monday to Friday (9am - 5pm)

Our client is seeking an experienced Ward Manager to join their team. This role requires a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse with robust leadership skills and a commitment to providing high-quality mental health care. The Ward Manager will lead a multidisciplinary team, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and a supportive environment for staff and patients alike. The role will be based in a small rehabilitation service, offering a first-class facility specifically designed to provide complex mental health care.

Candidate Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with a valid NMC PIN - RMN qualified
  • Previous experience in mental health nursing
  • Strong leadership skills and experience in managing a team of qualified professionals
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interactions with patients, families, and healthcare staff
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, handling challenging situations with empathy and professionalism
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to ensure safe, effective patient care

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the ward, ensuring a safe, therapeutic environment for both patients and staff
  • Lead and supervise a team of healthcare professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support as needed
  • Develop and implement individualised care plans that address the complex needs of each patient, in line with best practices and regulatory standards
  • Conduct regular assessments, monitor progress, and adjust care plans as required to optimize patient outcomes
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate and deliver holistic care, ensuring open communication with all team members
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with legal and professional standards
  • Participate in quality assurance initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of service delivery
  • Conduct staff appraisals, support professional development, and address performance-related issues constructively
