We are working exclusively with a leading automotive technology company in their search for an Assistant Accountant to join the growing Finance department. This is a hybrid role with 2 days a week in the office near Nuneaton, Warwickshire in the U.K.

You will be reporting into the Director of Finance, and responsible for all financial processing and reporting for the U.K. entity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform basic accounting tasks such as data entry, processing transactions, and reconciling financial statements.
• Prepare the financial reports, budgets, and forecasts for the UK entity
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Preparation and submission of VAT returns
• Processing of monthly payroll using the Pento payroll system
• Participate in month-end and year-end close processes
• Participate in year-end financial audit with our company auditors
• Collaborate with the finance team to ensure compliance with company policies and accounting regulations
• Perform other Ad Hoc reporting and analysis critical to Senior Leadership

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Preferable AAT level 4 qualified (or working towards) or equivalent relevant degree
• 2-3 year's experience as an assistant accountant or in a similar role
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations
• Attention to detail
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel
• Ability to embrace change in line with the nature of the business
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
