My client is a new independent school in the heart of Hillingdon, that caters to learners aged 5-11 with severe learning difficulties and Autism.

To help our students achieve, we innovate and use the best educational practices to become a leading SEN school in the U.K. Our new school site has many specialist sensory and therapeutic facilities to assist children's development. They are set in a large green, environmentally friendly location with plenty of opportunities for outdoor play and learning. The school is well connected to public transport and is 10 minutes bus ride from the West Drayton Elisabeth line.

Main tasks and jobs:


· Plan fun and engaging sessions to maximise learner engagement.


· Develop and implement Personalised Learning Plans (PLPs) for students.


· Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and parents.


· Monitor student progress and record progress.


· Monitor and record learners' attendance.


· Work with learners to develop their ability to self-regulate where needed.


· Responsible for a pathway, providing direct line management for the classes within the pathway.


· Responsible for working closely with SLT to review the Quality of Education within the pathway.


· Responsible for working closely with SLT to oversee pastoral and positive behaviour strategies & systems to improve engagement and learning within the pathway.

Candidate profile


· Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)


· Proven experience teaching SEN children, particularly children with severe learning difficulties and autism.


· Experience working with EQUALS curriculum would be beneficial.


· Experience with non-linear developmental assessment frameworks (e.g. Routes for Learning, SCERTS) would be beneficial.


· Passion for working with SEN children.


· Ability to line manage Teachers and Teaching Assistants.
