Mechanical Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and maintain plant equipment during production shifts, addressing breakdowns promptly.
• Perform both reactive and preventive maintenance to enhance equipment reliability.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to execute maintenance schedules and implement plant improvements.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments for systems like steam, compressed air, and hydraulics.
• Support engineering projects and contribute ideas for operational enhancements.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Ensure consistent staffing levels by covering shifts when needed.

Candidate Profile:

• A recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering (e.g., ONC, NVQ Level 3).
• Proven experience in both preventive and reactive maintenance.
• Knowledge of welding, pneumatics, and hydraulics is desirable.
• A safety-conscious mindset with the ability to identify and mitigate risks effectively.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Adaptability and resilience to work in a fast-paced environment.
