Specifications Technologist

Alexander Steele have partnered with an established multi-site food manufacturing business. Our client is seeking for an experienced specification technologist to join the business on a permanent basis. The role will be predominately remote based however, there will be the expectation of coming onto site as and when required.

Responsibilities:

* Writing and developing specifications for new and existing products that the business offers.

* Liaise with suppliers and customers to develop and modify product specifications ensuring that they meet with the specified legal and customer requirements.

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as npd team, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs, to obtain necessary information for specification development.

* Stay up to date with local and international food labelling regulations, including allergen and nutrition labelling.

Background Experience:

* 2+ years of experience in a specification technologist role within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

* Experience in creating and managing/writing food product specifications.

* Strong understanding of food ingredient functionality, nutritional analysis, and allergen management.

* Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
