Senior Specialist Occupational Therapist

Salary: £46,148 - £52,809 per annum

Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Specialist Occupational Therapist to join its dynamic team in Milton Keynes. This role will focus on delivering exceptional occupational therapy services to individuals with acquired brain injuries, working within the BIRT Neurobehavioural model.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing specialist occupational therapy to individuals with complex mental and physical health needs.
They will manage a caseload of service users, developing and delivering evidence-based treatment plans aimed at improving self-maintenance, productivity, and leisure skills.
They will conduct detailed risk assessments, formulate treatment goals, and evaluate interventions to ensure high standards of clinical care are maintained.
The role involves leading and coordinating occupational therapy services, collaborating with family members, external professionals, and service users.
The candidate will supervise and support junior staff, students, and rehabilitation support workers.
They will contribute to service development, clinical governance, and quality improvement projects.
Active participation in research, audits, and service evaluations to promote evidence-based practice is expected.Essential Criteria:

Education & Qualifications: A degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy, along with registration with the HCPC. Evidence of postgraduate study is required.
Experience: At least 4 years post-registration experience, with a minimum of 2 years specialising in neurological rehabilitation. Experience in managing teams, supervising junior staff, and working in a multi-disciplinary environment is also required.
Skills & Expertise: A deep understanding of OT assessments and interventions, particularly related to acquired brain injuries (ABI), cognitive and upper limb rehabilitation, and the use of outcome measures.
Personal Attributes: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage complex situations, work autonomously, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
