Vehicle Assemblers/Fitters Wanted - Join Driver Hire (Torbay) in Newton Abbot!

Driver Hire (Torbay) is currently recruiting vehicle fitters and assemblers for our client based in Newton Abbot. This temp-to-perm role is perfect for those looking to enhance their skills and establish a stable career in vehicle assembly.

Key Information:

• Hourly Rate: £13 per hour.
• Working Hours: Rotating shifts - Week 1: 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM, Week 2: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM.
• Holiday Entitlement: 28 days annually (including public holidays). After 5 years of service, entitlement increases by 1 day per year, up to a maximum of 33 days (including bank holidays).
• Pension Scheme: 5% employee and 3% employer contributions.
• Licence Requirement: Full UK/EU driving licence is necessary.

Main Duties:

• Interpret basic mechanical drawings and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Safely and effectively use a variety of hand and air tools.
• Follow established processes with precision.
• Build and maintain assemblies to meet quality standards.
• Ensure all tools are used properly, maintained, and kept in good condition.
• Complete company documentation accurately and keep workspaces organised.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Strong communication skills with a friendly and professional demeanour.
• Excellent attention to detail and quality.
• Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of vehicle electrics is an advantage but not essential-willingness to learn is key.
• Flexible attitude and confidence in working with power and air tools.
• While experience in a manufacturing or production environment is beneficial, it is not required-full training will be provided for suitable candidates.
