Interim Head of Repairs and Maintenance

Rate: £650 per day (umbrella)

About the Role:

A London local authority is seeking an experienced Interim Head of Repairs and Maintenance. This role involves managing overall responsibilities for Responsive Repairs, Voids, Disrepair, Complex Repairs, Damp and Mould, and Depot management. The position also includes leading the transformation of the repairs service, encompassing all related budgetary expenditures.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management: Oversee responsive repair and maintenance teams, managing all aspects of repairs delivery, including the direct labour organisation, damp and mould issues, complex repairs, customer relations, and coordination with multiple contractors.
Service Quality: Ensure a reliable, customer-focused, and cost-effective repairs service for the council's housing portfolio.
Continuous Improvement: Lead service-wide and area-based initiatives aimed at improving the quality, cost, and effectiveness of the repairs service, supporting the delivery of borough outcomes.
Leadership: Provide effective management and leadership to repairs teams, delivering a high-quality service to the residents of council housing portfolio, and meeting customer satisfaction and operational targets.

Requirements:

Experience: Proven track record in delivering repair services at the Head of Service level is essential.
Management Skills: Substantial experience in managing direct labour teams and subcontractors.
Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience in developing robust reporting and data frameworks and using trade software packages to ensure effective repair services
