Like baking?  Would you like to make chocolate for a social enterprise and support young people with Autism or a Learning Disability?

This charity helps young people develop work skills, offering an average of 160 placement sessions monthly in their chocolate studio and horticulture centre. Over half the employees are on the autism spectrum. They partner with local schools to provide an accessible educational venue, encouraging personal, social, and emotional development through activities.

You will be working as part of the chocolatier team, which is a commercial operation of the charity providing chocolates to local businesses.  It's a busy operation to say the least!  

As a Chocolatier/Piping Specialist, you'll join their diverse team, including individuals with autism. An awareness / understanding of Autism is useful.  Typical tasks include:
 
Precisely pipe chocolate into moulds.
Fill chocolates with various fillings.
Maintain food hygiene standards.
Collaborate to meet production goals.
Pack and ensure quality.
Requirements:
 
Passion for chocolate making.
Strong work ethic.
Team player.
Catering or cake decoration experience preferred (even as a hobby) OR some kitchen or catering experience
Genuine motivation for part time 20 - 25 hours per week
Valid driver's license.
Location:  The project is set just on the outskirts of Knaresborough, with plenty of parking.

The salary range is £22,000 - £25,000 pro rata so £11,732 - £13,332 depending upon experience.  Please also note that nuts are used at the operation. The role is part time with the posibility ormore hours in the future.
