Job Title: Maintenance Engineer
Location: Barnsley
Shift Pattern: Continental (12 hour shifts)
Salary: £47,000 plus + OT + bonus based on company performance
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform day-to-day project works, preventative maintenance, and breakdowns.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
* Collaborate with the technical team to learn the functions of all machines.
* Conduct mechanical tasks such as drilling, tapping, dies, files, measurements, bearings, ultrasonic welders, pneumatic cylinders, gearboxes, etc.
* Operate machinery in the workshop, including surface grinders, lathes, millers, pillar drills, grinders, pedestal grinders, and hydraulic presses.
* Read and understand various electrical schematic drawings.
* Understand different types of circuits and components (3-phase, single phase, 24v).
Qualifications & Skills:
* GCSE's or equivalent.
* HNC/HND is preferred but not essential.
* Minimum level 3 BETEC in engineering.
* Experience in fault finding.
* Experience in using workshop machinery.
Requirements:
* Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a team.
* Willingness to learn and adapt.
* Previous experience in a similar role is preferred
