The Role:
To provide supervision and guidance to our Dispatch & Accounts Payable Department and ensure that all financial and accounting operations within the Finance Department are carried out to a high standard.
​Main Responsibilities: Senior Accounts Assistant
* Assist and support credit control, despatch and accounts payable
* First point of contact for queries regarding despatch and purchase ledger with further escalation to Finance Manager
* Process and manage daily, end of month bank reconciliations, and month end reporting
* Assist in implementing financial systems, procedures and internal controls to support the efficient and effective operation of the finance function
* Assist, prepare, and post monthly accruals, prepayments and similar accounting entries
* Monitor the cash flow of the company to ensure sufficient funds are available to meet daily cash flow needs
* Assist with tax queries including VAT submissions
* Upload invoices, credit notes, daily and including monthly reconciliation for banking requirements
* Update SAP to reflect Euro and UDS exchange rates, to include any fluctuation in rates
* Monitor relevant Inbox for payments and add to cashflow daily, posting UK and Foreign purchase invoices
* Raise payment run for UK BACS and foreign suppliers
* Process expenses and credit card statements
Skills & Experience: Senior Accounts Assistant
* 3 years' plus experience in a Finance role, to include credit control and purchase ledger
* Accountancy qualification desirable
* Advanced Excel skills essential and previous experience of SAP is highly desirable
* Commercial and business awareness
* Excellent communication skills including people leadership experience
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion and diplomacy is crucial
