Avencia consulting is partnered with a Corporate & Specialty Insurer part of the Talanx Group who are looking to recruit a Product Recall Underwriter in their London office.
With over 120 years of experience, they operate across five continents, around 40 countries and employs over 5,000 people worldwide.
Product Recall is unit within Crisis Management and part of their Specialty business.
They are a dedicated wholesale Underwriting team serving the London broking wholesale specialists in this class. They have one of the largest portfolios in this niche market, and both lead and follow global accounts.
The role
- To support the underwriting manager in the profitable growth of the product recall book, and develop own portfolio.
- To analyse, assess, and underwrite all forms of contaminated Products risks, including pharmaceutical, Packaging, Cannabis, and Restaurant business.
- To analyse, assess, and underwrite all forms of consumer goods product recall risks.
- To analyse, assess, and underwrite all forms of third party automotive recall risks.
- To assist in the development of new Crisis Management products and initiatives.
- To ensure the timely and accurate administration, reporting, and processing in this class.
- To maintain and develop relationships with the Product Recall Wholesale brokers.
- To maintain current and relevant knowledge in key industry sectors, notably food & beverage and automotive manufacturing.
- To manage internal reporting, and departmental data.
Key accountabilities
- Underwriting, processing, and servicing of new and renewal Product Recall business. Within granted underwriting personal authority levels and in accordance with the underwriting guidelines and branch business plan.
- Processing on eNora, and PPL, with assistance from the Crisis Management Underwriting Assistant
- Support the underwriting manager in developing the existing rating tools.
- To maintain regular contact with the whole broking community in London.
- To review and assess wordings and underwriting criteria with legal and compliance.
- Liaison with claims to provide wording and coverage guidance.
- Attendance at broker hosted client presentations.
- To maintain underwriting discipline within the CM and branch guidelines, and goals and within granted authority levels.
