About the Role

An established provider of highways maintenance, civil engineering, and infrastructure services is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth and expand client relationships across Oxford and the surrounding areas. This role will focus on identifying new business opportunities, managing key accounts, and developing strategic partnerships to support the continued success of highways and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

* Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within the highways, civil engineering, and infrastructure sectors.

* Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, developers, contractors, and key stakeholders.

* Develop and implement a sales strategy to meet revenue and growth targets.

* Lead the tendering and bidding process, ensuring high-quality submissions that align with client needs.

* Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to identify opportunities for business expansion.

* Collaborate with internal teams to develop tailored solutions for clients, ensuring service excellence and contract success.

* Prepare and present proposals, business cases, and sales reports to senior management.

* Represent the company at networking events, industry exhibitions, and client meetings to enhance market presence.

Requirements

* Proven experience in a business development, sales, or client relationship role within the highways, civil engineering, or construction sectors.

* Strong understanding of highways maintenance, roadworks, drainage, and infrastructure services.

* Demonstrated success in winning contracts and developing long-term partnerships.

* Ability to manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation to contract negotiation and closure.

* Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

* Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and tendering platforms.

* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for client meetings and site visits.
